Deliver Professional, Branded Intelligence
Sending a generic report with a third-party URL often undermines the perceived value of your agency’s services. It signals to the client that you are renting tools rather than owning the infrastructure.
White Label Reporting allows you to reclaim that brand authority. By customizing the visual identity of your reports and hosting them on your own domain (e.g., reports.youragency.com), you transform raw data into a proprietary asset.
This creates a seamless client experience where every interaction—from a quick ranking check to a deep-dive audit—reinforces your brand’s professionalism and expertise.
| Who is this for? |
|
| What you’ll need | • Administrator access to your Domain DNS (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc.) • A Local Dominator subscription (Lite plan or higher). |
| Time to complete | Approximately 10-15 minutes for setup (plus variable DNS propagation time). |
Why Use White Label Reporting?
The primary goal of white labeling is Brand Consistency. When a client clicks a link to view their rankings, they should feel like they never left your ecosystem.
- Build Trust: A report hosted on your domain carries significantly higher authority than a generic shared link.
- Protect Your Margins: By masking the underlying tools you use, you shift the conversation from “how much does this tool cost?” to “how much value is this agency providing?”
- Streamline Communication: Dynamic white label links allow you to share a single URL with clients, reducing the need for manual PDF exports and email attachments.
How to Set Up Your White Label Environment
This process is divided into two phases: Visual Configuration (design) and Technical Configuration (domain setup).
Step 1: Initial Visual Setup
This step applies your brand identity to the report interface.
- Navigate to Settings: Click on the kebab icon and select White Label.
- Input Brand Details: Fill in your Company Name, Website URL, and a custom “Report Title” (e.g., “Monthly Growth Report”).
- Upload Logo: Upload your agency logo. Tip: Use a PNG with a transparent background for the best visual result.
- Set Color Scheme: Select “Primary” and “Secondary” colors that match your brand guidelines.
- Save: Click Save to apply these changes to all future shared reports.

Step 2: Configure a Custom Whitelabel URL on a Subdomain (Optional)
This step allows you to mask the URL so reports load from your domain (e.g., portal.myagency.com) instead of showing the Local Dominator provided link.
- Enter Your Subdomain:
- Go to My Account and navigate to the White Label URL tab within settings.
- Input the full subdomain you wish to use (e.g., reports.myagency.com or data.myagency.com).
- Generate Your Token:
- Click the Save button.
- The system will generate a unique Token. Copy this string exactly.
- Critical Note: This token is Case Sensitive. Ensure you copy it without any extra spaces.
- Configure DNS Records:
- Log in to your domain registrar (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare).
- Navigate to DNS Management or DNS Records.
- Add a new record with the following settings:
- Type: CNAME
- Host / Name: Enter only the prefix of your subdomain (e.g., if you chose reports.myagency.com, enter “reports”).
- Value / Target: Paste the unique Token you generated earlier.
- TTL: Leave as Automatic or set to 1 Hour (3600 seconds).
Step 3: Verify and Test
Once your DNS record is saved, the changes need to propagate across the internet.
- Wait for Propagation: This usually takes 15 minutes but can take up to 48 hours depending on your registrar.
- Check Status: Return to the Local Dominator White Label settings. The status will automatically update to “Verified” once the connection is established.
- Test a Link: Open any report (Geogrid, SERP, Citations, or AI Tracking Report), copy the “Share URL,” and confirm it now loads on your custom domain.
Important Note:
If you need to change or remove the custom URL in the future, return to the white label settings and remove the current setup to start the process over with a new domain or subdomain, following the same steps as above.
Best Practices for White Labeling
Tips for Agencies
- The “Hero” Report: Don’t just send raw data. Use the “Fine Print” or “Footer” fields in the white label settings to add links to your support portal or upsell pages (e.g., “Need more reviews? Click here to upgrade.”).
- Embed for Retention: Use the iFrame integration to embed your white-labeled report directly inside a client portal or a CRM like GoHighLevel.
- How to do it: Create a “Custom Menu Link” in GHL, paste your white label report URL, and select “Open inside iFrame.” This keeps the client inside your billing environment while viewing their results.
Tips for Technical Setup
- Cloudflare Users: If you manage DNS via Cloudflare, ensure the “Proxy Status” for your CNAME record is set to DNS Only (Grey Cloud icon) during the verification process. The “Orange Cloud” proxy can sometimes block the SSL certificate generation.
- Subdomain Selection: Choose a professional, clear subdomain. reports.agency.com, portal.agency.com, or clients.agency.com are the industry standards.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my status still say “Unverified”?
This is usually due to DNS propagation or a typo. Here’s what you can do:
- Check Propagation: It can take up to 48 hours, though it is usually much faster.
- Check the “Host” Field: If you use a registrar like GoDaddy, enter only the prefix (e.g., reports) in the Host field. If you enter the full URL (reports.agency.com), it may incorrectly create reports.agency.com.agency.com.
- Check the Token: Ensure you didn’t copy a blank space at the end of the token string.
Can I use my main root domain (e.g.: myagency.com)?
No. You must use a subdomain (e.g., reports.myagency.com). Using a root domain for reporting would conflict with your main agency website hosting.
What happens if I change my subdomain later?
If you change the subdomain in the dashboard, the system will generate a new Token. You will need to update your DNS records immediately. Any old links you shared with clients will stop working until the new DNS record propagates.
Does the white label report work with SSL (HTTPS)?
Yes. We automatically provision an SSL certificate for your custom subdomain once the DNS is verified, ensuring your clients see a secure connection without any warnings.
